Who is responsible for your data
This website is run by Marcel Favery, a self-employed cinematographer and photographer based in Lisbon, Portugal (NIF 299760219). Marcel is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email contact@marcelfavery.com.
What data is collected and why
Contact form and email
When you send an enquiry, the form collects your first and last name, email address, project or organization (optional), budget range (optional) and your message. The same applies if you email Marcel directly. This data is used only to reply to you and, if you agree to work together, to prepare and carry out the project.
The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and Marcel's legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You are not required to provide this data, but without it Marcel cannot reply.
Website statistics
The site uses Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to count visits and see which pages are viewed. Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites and does not build a profile of you. It reports aggregated statistics only. The legal basis is Marcel's legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Technical data
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your request. This is needed to deliver the site securely (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cookies
This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It stores one setting in your browser, your light or dark theme choice, which never leaves your device.
Who receives your data
Marcel uses these service providers to run the site:
- Static Forms receives contact form submissions and forwards them to Marcel's inbox.
- Google (Gmail) hosts the inbox where enquiries arrive.
- Umami provides the website statistics.
- The website hosting provider delivers the pages and processes the technical data described above.
These providers act on Marcel's instructions. Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognized under the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.
How long data is kept
- Static Forms keeps form submissions for up to one year, then deletes them.
- Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any work that follows, then deleted.
- If you hire Marcel, project and invoicing records are kept for the period required by Portuguese tax law.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email contact@marcelfavery.com. You will get a reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
